THE KING'S GARDEN

A Tale Of Three Gardens

Once upon a song, long, long ago, there was a King who lived in a beautiful garden. He made it His home, for us and Him alone, so we could live with Him, in love with Him, as His bride forever.

But right away- we fell away- went astray- disobeyed. We had to leave the garden. But He loved us too much to leave us that way. For us to change, we had to KNOW His love; and for us to KNOW His love - He had to SHOW His love, by laying down His life for us: “Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son to be the atonement for our sins.” (1 John 4:10)

And so, He was crucified, buried, and resurrected. Where? In a garden! (John 19:41–John 20:1) Why a garden? That's where all the trouble started. And that's where He died, to plant His seed of love so deep in the garden of our heart, that we would rise with Him and spring forth into new life- as His beloved bride!

For His resurrection was not the end of the story, but the beginning of our new life in Him- in a new garden- the garden of Solomon, with this call: “Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away...” He sings His beautiful Song of Songs to each one of us individually, calling us ever closer to Him, as His story becomes our story, and our vision...

until we hear His third and final call- to the most beautiful garden of all, in the land of eternal spring, where His love is sealed upon our hearts forever in heaven with Him.

“My Beloved spoke, and said unto me, “Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away. For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone; the flowers appear on the earth; the time of singing has come....”
